What Should You Put in a Children’s Party Bag?

If you’re planning a children’s birthday party and wondering what on earth to put in the party bags, you’re definitely not alone.
I’ve spent plenty of evenings searching online for party bag fillers and standing in shops trying to work out what children will actually enjoy. As a Mam of three, I know how quickly the costs can add up and how hard it can be to find things that feel a little bit special without spending a fortune.
For me, the best party bags are the ones that children are genuinely excited to open and that don’t end up forgotten at the bottom of a cupboard a few days later.
I always think it’s worth including something children can actually do. Colouring activities, stickers, bubbles and simple crafts are always popular and give children something to enjoy when they get home from the party.
If your party has a theme, matching the contents to it can make the whole celebration feel that little bit more magical. Whether it’s dinosaurs, mermaids, unicorns, rainbows or space adventures, children love seeing a theme carried all the way through to their party bag.
I also don’t think party bags need to be filled with lots of different items. A few carefully chosen things that children will enjoy are often much better than lots of fillers that end up being thrown away.
And of course, no party bag is complete without a little sweet treat!
The most important thing to remember is that children are usually just excited to be celebrating with their friends. They aren’t counting how many items are in their party bag. They simply love having something fun to take home at the end of a lovely day.
That’s one of the reasons I created Little Hooray. I wanted to make party planning a little easier for busy parents whilst creating party bags that children would genuinely enjoy receiving.
If you’re currently planning a party, I hope this has given you a few ideas and maybe saved you a little bit of party planning stress too.
